varicontrol-c: CentralIZED Energy Monitoring System
Varicontrol-C is an energy monitoring system which may be installed into a live data centre environment; it is therefore suitable for existing data centres where no energy monitoring is installed, but is desired or required.

Varicontrol-C provides a stand-alone monitoring and reporting application with the possibility to transfer alarm-condition alerts via e-mail server, or via SNMP traps to a network management system.

Solution Description
- Using split-core current transformers installed in the DC’s main power distribution units (PDUs), accurate voltage, current and power factor data are transferred to a local processing unit.
- The processing unit communicates with a server-based application which provides a real-time graphical overview of the DC including any alarm conditions, a database of measurements and a graphing function for each circuit and/or group of circuits.
- A reporting function allows regular reports of power consumption per circuit, customer, rack, software application etc., depending on how the owner has configured the system layout.
