The HD rack can be delivered with several different “off the shelf” controlling strategies, varying from manual control up
to an automatic control which is fully integrated with the controlling mechanism of the CRAC unit. The fully automatic
control steers the fan speed, based on the actual measured temperatures in front and behind the servers. The result
is a close control steering strategy which reacts rapidly to fluctuation in the heat exhaust. The integration with the
CRAC’s controlling mechanism steers the fans of the CRAC unit, resulting in a perfect balance between the required and
produced cold air. This integrated control leads to an optimized balance between energy efficiency and flexibility of your
cooling capacity.
For a mission critical data center, continuous monitoring of the relevant parameters such as power,
temperature and humidity is a must. Early warning of potential problems is key in minimizing downtime. Minkels RMS can
monitor the rack or even the entire data centre. The Varicontrol-S system can be integrated easily in most existing network management software. There is a wide range of Varicontrol-S monitoring units and sensors, providing a solution for every specific need.
